Production diaries

Cookbook → Diary is Baker and Chef trial logs (Pro). They do not feed waste. Waste is weekly plan vs sales on Waste.

Switch Baker / Chef with the row under the Diary tab.

Before you start

On Cookbook → Menu → Recipes, set Diary:

• Baker — dough, baked bases, fermentations
• Chef — sauces, proteins, kitchen trials

Only tagged recipes appear in that diary’s picker.

Use it

Baker

In-house dough and bake trials (baker module may need Production log at signup):

Cookbook → Diary → Baker — conditions, par suggestion, and log form.

1. Cookbook → Diary → Baker.
2. Pick a baker-tagged recipe.
3. Log trial amounts and notes.
4. Optional yield for $/unit vs the catalog recipe.
5. Weather and pars may suggest a baseline — change it for the trial.

Each entry shows experiment vs catalog cost and today’s sell-through for products using that recipe.

Chef

Kitchen prep trials on Pro:

1. Cookbook → Diary → Chef.
2. Pick a chef-tagged recipe.
3. Product trial or an ingredient-style log.
4. Quantity and notes. Save. Compare batch cost to catalog and today’s sales.

Log is today’s entries. History is past days (day / week / month). Edit notes or delete mistakes from history.

Staff follow Prep. Managers use diaries before changing the catalog recipe.

If it looks wrong

• Recipe missing from the picker — Diary tag is off or on the other log.
• Waste did not move after a trial — diaries do not feed waste.
