Point of sale

Store → Setup → Point of sale connects Square or Toast so Orders fills on its own.

Store → Setup → Point of sale — Square or Toast connected and feeding Orders.

Kitchen staff never need this tab. They only use Orders.

Before you start

Confirm the correct store in the header. Each location has its own connection.

Set it up

Square

  1. Connect on Square.
  2. Sign in to Square and authorize Parsley.
  3. Status should read Connected and Feeds Orders.
  4. Ring a test ticket. It should land on Orders → Active within a few seconds.

Then Cookbook → Menu → ProductsLoad Square catalog → import variations (or paste the variation id). Tickets still appear without a map. Waste and profit need the id, recipes, Weekly par, and a completed ticket. See Build a menu.

Toast

Toast does not use a login redirect. One restaurant GUID per location.

  1. Connect on Toast.
  2. Paste the restaurant GUID (Toast Web → location details, or Toast support) and save.
  3. Status should read Connected and Feeds Orders.

Paste item GUIDs on Cookbook products (and add-on links). There is no Toast catalog import. See Build a menu.

Use it

After it is connected, leave it alone. Disconnect if you are tearing the store down or swapping POS. Toast disconnect clears the restaurant GUID when live connect is on.

If live POS is not enabled, Connect may only simulate a link in this browser. Real shops need live connect.

If it looks wrong

  • Wrong store in the header.
  • Test sale not on Orders — wait a few seconds, then check Connected.
  • Tickets show but names are POS text — map products in Cookbook.
