Overhead

Store → Costing → Overhead is named bills: rent, truck, utilities, software, kitchen supplies or packaging that are not on a recipe.

Pro. Managers and owners only.

If the SKU is already in Inventory and on a recipe, it is food when it sells. Do not list it here too. Inventory on hand is not overhead.

Set it up

Each line: name, category, amount, cadence, start date, optional end date.

Categories: Rent, Truck, Gas, Electric, Water, Software, Kitchen supplies, Packaging, Other. Use Rent or Truck (or both if you have both).

Cadence:

• Once — full amount on the charge date
• Weekly — amount ÷ 7 each active day
• Monthly — amount ÷ days in that month each active day
• Yearly — amount ÷ 365 (366 in a leap year) each active day

A line runs from start through end (or ongoing if there is no end).

Use it

You set bills here. Profits subtracts that day’s slice. Week and month sum the same daily slices. Empty overhead is $0.

Recurring lines show as Overhead. Once lines show as One-time when they fall in the selected range. Both still come out of operating profit.

If it looks wrong

• Profit overhead is $0 — no lines, or the date range is outside start/end.
• A repair looks like rent — it should be Once; Profits will list it as One-time.
• Flour listed here and on a recipe — you are double counting. Keep it on the recipe.
